Conclusion HandShake is very easy to use. It is just like other job hunting website. All you have to do is complete your profile to 100%, put on a professional photo, attach your resume and cover letter, and make your profile public so employers can reach out to you if they’re interested in your profile . How to complete your profile to 100%? You have to fill out your education level like high school, have any work experience, have any particular skills, involved any organizations or extracurricular, taken any special courses, and done any projects. It’s as easy as that. Although HandShake seems fabulous for students to find job opportunities, there are still some shortcomings. The biggest one is that the number of colleges that it works with is too little. It only has partnerships with 500 colleges; that’s only 10% of the colleges in the U.S and the U.S. has around 5000 colleges. However, HandShake was only founded in 2014, it’s pretty impressive that it expanded its network to 500 colleges in only 4 years. There is a great potential that it keeps growing at a fast pace. Overall, Handshake provides the platform for students, career centers, and employers to meet and share opportunities. Students can find a job or an internship that match their unique interests.
